Rental Insurance Coverage Guide
Choosing the appropriate insurance coverage is a key element for a safe and stress-free car rental experience. Eurorent Economy Car Rental provides clear and transparent insurance coverages, so that the renter knows exactly the level of protection available throughout the rental period.
Basic Insurance (CDW – Collision Damage Waiver)
Basic insurance is included in the rental price and covers third party liability insurance (Third Party Liability – TPL) for material damages or bodily injuries caused to third parties, as well as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), which limits the renter’s liability to a predetermined excess amount in case of damage to the vehicle, excluding cases that are expressly not covered by the terms of the contract.
Full Insurance (Zero Excess)
Full insurance is an optional upgrade and includes all coverages of the basic insurance, zero excess amount in case of damage to the vehicle, coverage for fire and theft, as well as coverage for damages caused by weather conditions. It is the ideal choice for those who wish maximum protection and complete peace of mind while driving.
Tire & Glass Insurance (TGI – Tire & Glass Insurance)
Tire and glass insurance (TGI) is an optional insurance coverage and provides protection exclusively for specific parts of the vehicle. The coverage includes damages concerning exclusively the vehicle’s tires only in cases of accidental puncture or tearing, provided that the vehicle is used on paved roads and in accordance with the terms of the contract, as well as damages to the vehicle’s glass (front windshield, rear windshield and side windows). Lights, lighting units, wheels and rims are not covered.
Insurance Coverage for Young Drivers (18–21 Years Old)
Eurorent Economy Car Rental provides the possibility for young drivers aged from eighteen (18) to twenty-one (21) years to rent a vehicle with full transparency and clear insurance terms, without grey areas or vague restrictions.
Young drivers are entitled to Basic Insurance (CDW – Collision Damage Waiver), which is included in the rental price applicable to their age category.
In addition, young drivers may, upon request, choose Full Insurance (Zero Excess), which is provided at the corresponding insurance cost for this age category.
All insurance charges are disclosed in advance during the booking process or upon vehicle collection, ensuring full transparency and without unexpected or hidden charges.
What Is Not Covered by Any Insurance
Violations of the Road Traffic Code, unauthorized drivers, damages to the vehicle interior, loss or damage of keys, engine damages or damage caused by wrong fuel, damages occurring after the expiration of the agreed rental period, as well as damages caused by off-road driving, are not covered by any insurance.
Explicit Exclusions – Underside of the Vehicle
Damages concerning the underside of the vehicle are not covered by any insurance coverage, including basic insurance (CDW), full insurance (Zero Excess) or tire and glass insurance (TGI). Such damages are considered the result of improper or unsuitable use of the vehicle, such as driving on unpaved roads, driving on roads with potholes or severe irregularities, or impact with stones, curbs or other obstacles. In every such case, the renter bears full and exclusive responsibility for the cost of repair.
